Re: Long Legs In Fishnets (Zatanna) « Result #1 Today at 6:28pm »
Trevor was in a lot of pain himself, but he always worried about himself last. Right about now Zatanna looked like she was still hurting, even if she did say she was better now. His eyes watched the woman's movements closely, keeping an eye on her hand as it rubbed at her tender side. "Yeah, I'll keep that in mind." Sure why not, he'd become a regular vampire and demon slayer. That'd be a nice little addition to his resume. "Don't mention it, I'm glad I had you here to do most of the work." He smiled slightly. She was done with hating and glaring at him then? If so, olive branch accepted. "Yeah, thats all I need...more things that I'll have to tell my shrink in a few years."
This life Trevor was living was really gonna drive him insane.
Trevor's neck turned slightly, his eyes a bit narrowed as the corners of his lips turned upward in a tiny smile. "You know I'm not FBI, don't you?" Maybe next time he'd actually get a black suit to wear while sporting the FBI badge. Trevor's gaze followed Zatanna as she began to walk away, after a good distance he looked down at his side. How'd she know it was broken? He rubbed lightly at the pained area before glancing up at the woman in fishnets once again. Trevor never liked to let people see him in a weakened or vulnerable state, for some reason he just always thought he had to be the strong one. He blamed his parents and grandparents for that.
"Got it." He stepped up and placed his hand into the magician's, taking in a breath as he prepared to be yanked through the portal. Hopefully with them now touching during the transaction, Trevor wouldn't come out with the need to vomit.

Re: Feliz Navidad [Dante] « Result #2 Today at 6:17pm »
He tried to put up some kind of protest and insist, but Trevor knew that the woman before him would not let it happen. "Guests can help too, ya know." He mused loudly to her before going back to the tree. A smile was on his face as he lightly shook his head. Dante was just too nice to have a friend doing any kind of work when she was supposed to be the one entertaining. She really was too kind a woman. His fingers poked at a few of the bulbs and ornaments that decorated Dante's tree just as she returned to the room.
"Very nice, Ms. Quinto." He clapped his hands jokingly and gave her a short bow. The food really looked good. Before anymore could be said there came the sound of the door bell. There was no question about who was at the door. Dante's parents. While his friend went to answer the door and greet her parents, Trevor hang back and tried to get the creases and wrinkles out of his clothing. Running his hands over his head and his short hair Trevor hoped that he would appear presentable to the woman's parents.
It would be Mr. Quinto who noticed him first, eying him with a bit of curiosity and confusion. "Uh," His eyes searched for Dante but was blocked as her mother came flying at him. Trevor made eye contact with the woman and nodded as he grabbed her hand softly. "Trevor Evans. Nice to meet you Mrs. Quinto." He gave Dante's mom and warm smile before shaking her father's hand as well. "You too, Mr. Quinto." He'd never met them before but he sure had heard a lot about them, Trevor wondered what they'd heard of him.
"Dante and I were in the Gotham police department together a few years back. We only recently bumped into each other again. I hope you two don't think of me as intruding on this family celebration." Dark eyes looked from Mr. and Mrs. Quinto with an apologetic look.

Re: W: White Eyes (X) « Result #3 Today at 5:49pm »
As long as he kept her hidden and safely away from any of the LexCorp workers then the girl should be fine. Greg was putting her into a small degree of danger without even letting her know, he was being a real crappy friend to her. He was going to have to make sure that no one but himself knew of her being there, and that meant keeping her in only his designated area and away from any cameras. Should be easy enough....
"Just tonight? You sure, Annie?" Though he was just thinking of the dangers that could be waiting for her here, Red was much more comfortable with that than what could happen out there. At least by keeping her with him he could keep an eye on her. "Its no problem or anything, you're always welcome here." It was no inconvenience to him, Greg actually liked having someone normal around for a change.
With just a little less discomfort and awkwardness Red's arms went around Annie as she hugged him. A good friend. For a moment he frowned at himself, knowing that he really wasn't that good a friend at all. "Thanks, you're a great friend yourself Annie." The only friend he'd had. Pulling back from her Greg looked down into the girl's large eyes, "Want me to show you were you'll sleep?"

Re: W: Found! [Speedy and Red X] « Result #4 Today at 5:38pm »
Two men on his list, and now a chick? Well this one would be all too easy, especially if she weren't allowed to get off any of her arrows. A frown washed over the man's face as his foot only caught air, ivory slits narrowing as the girl moved backward. "If you're one of those banter people, I'll kick your ass even worse." Strange enough, considering that Red X once couldn't stand to keep his mouth shut during a fight. Its funny how people can change just by a slight realignment of sides.
Shifting his foot back to the ground Red prepared to counter the kick that Speedy appeared to be aiming to throw his way. Unfortunately that was just a set up, and soon the girl was flying at him with fists. The thief's head snapped back from the punch, forcing his body back a foot or two. Regaining control of his body Red used that forced momentum to spin himself around. Doing a complete 360 Red brought his closed fist to backhand against the side of Speedy's face. The other hand quickly followed to send a palm strike to her nose and mouth area. The girl had some nice (and surprising) moves, but Red knew he could be faster and after the things he'd been through he knew that Speedy was not at all on his level.

Re: Bad Girls' Day Out [Jinx!] « Result #5 Today at 4:33pm »
Scream Queen glanced over at Jinx when she asked rather angrily if Scarecrow put her up to this. Very perceptive, then again her reputation as being a trainee of Scarecrow's was fairly well-known. "Riiiiiight, like I knew you'd show up here." She said sarcastically, though in lower, colder tone so Jinx would hopefully not recognize her. "I just have bigger fish to fry, NO ONE makes me sing choruses."
Chances were Jinx would corner her afterwards, but for now the young villainess wanted to focus on the Meister, knowing if he remained unchecked they'd both be singing their suicide notes. The villain himself had recovered, and faced them both, straitening his huge bow tie and dusting off his coat. I see the players ranks have grown in this fascinating game! But both you girls you should have known Your vocals shall be aflame!
He sang, retreating back and firing another supersonic 'music blast' at the two.
"With my voice you are my slaves But don't think you're immune! I place melodies in your brains And soon you'll sing a tune!
With that, the Music Meister did as he'd done when he first made his presence known at a launch site; true he could not completely enslave them but he'd at least make them face the music, so to speak.
A brief silence, and Scream Queen grew bored. What was he up to? "What's the matter? Have you emptied your-- *bladder?*" She put a hand to her mouth when she realized she sang the last word in mezzo-soprano. Her face turned bright red and she could already hear music playing in her head. Oh no. She would NOT let him embarrass her here! "You got lucky that time, *but I'm still gonna stop. Your. Criiiiime!*" She stated, singing the second half and gesturing out to him. The Music Meister grinned in satisfaction as the young villain tried to cover her mouth to stop herself.
"Lovely! Why don't you BOTH show me what you've got?" He asked, amused and leaning against his cane as the clerks got back up and pirouetted towards the teens. True, when broadcasting his power into their heads he could only force them to sing and do some minor dance steps, rather then control them outright, but whatever managed to distract them while his brainwashed forces regrouped.
"I'm glad to see you're not letting all the many different incarnations of the League and the individual drama they went through interfere with this roster you're building. I've always been of the mind that the past shouldn't matter overly much when it comes to this business. Of course, that's only in regards to the little things. As a legacy hero, much like yourself, what the Mid-Nite's before me did and stood for does matter. If McNider had an argument with, say, Hippolyta in the sixties, though, I'd hate for that to interfere with the work we do today. In particular, I have to say I'm glad Elongated Man is back with us. That...was a nasty business." Mid-Nite, who conducted the autopsy on Sue Dibny, remembered all too well. He'd discovered who killed Sue by medical means, whereas Batman had discovered it through pure logical thought. Both seemed fairly impressive, at least to him.
"Of course. Speaking of legacy, McNider never was a member of the League. I like to think I'm breaking new ground from time to time. McNider accomplished a lot, not the least of which was making an impact on my life, but living in his shadow was a mistake I made early on in my career. These days, I simply try to help where I can. I'm not the third smartest man in the world, so I could never have predicted this invasion. All I can do is try to help with the aftermath. That's something like the curse of a doctor. Occasionally, those in the medical profession develop a condition where they become devastated when they can't save everyone. As a superhero and a doctor, I'm about as proactive as you can be in the medical profession. That is, without knowing when and where a person will get injured before they actually do, and that's impossible."
"My point, circuitous as the logic that brings me here is, is that the first Mr. Terrific was, to be frank, never as important as you are now, Michael. I have the utmost confidence in your abilities to get the League through this."
"Dr. Averichiati. It's been a long time." Dr. Mid-Nite said pleasantly, holding the reciever to his ear with a free hand. He had been enjoying a rare moment of free time, brushing up on Plato and sipping from a cup of tea when the call came. Mid-Nite never regretted being on call 24/7, even when it did tend to interrupt his free time like right now. As a premier doctor and surgeon, there was always more he could be doing to help his fellow man. Dr. Averichiati was a colleague from back in medical school some years back. A long time before the accident that caused his blindness.
"It has, Dr. Cross. But I'm afraid this isn't a social call. We've got...well, my superiors won't admit it, but it's looking like the beginning of an epidemic down here." She responded, voice low. Mid-Nite wouldn't be surprised if she was making this call very much on the down low. Going around superiors in the medical business was never an easy decision. It was, in a case such as this, probably the morally correct decision, however. Dr. Averichiati always did have a good eye for seeing how events would progress.
"Let me get a few things, and I'll be there in an hour. Don't worry Luna, I'll be sure to make it seem like a surprise visit."
"Thank you, Pieter."
--1 Hour Later--
Dr. Mid-Nite parked the helicopter at the nearby military waystation. It was easy to tell a lot of things about a medical crisis by the military. They seemed edgy, and regarded him with a good deal of uncalled for suspiscion. He made his way to the hospital, leaping across rooftops until he finally swung down close to the emergency room. The people were a lot like the military. Anybody who was out on the streets really looked like they didn't want to be.
"Excuse me, I'm looking for a Dr. Averichiati." Mid-Nite said to a nearby EMT. "And I understand the government sent a representative here?" Even as he spoke, there was a crashing sound across the street. Mid-Nite took a step to the side, protecting the two paramedics. It was unnecessary, though, as the sound was the sound of a store window breaking. Vandals. This city was high-strung. "Right across the street from a hospital, no less." Mid-Nite said, shaking his head at this display. In this city, there probably wouldn't be a long trip after they were captured.
[OOC: I took some liberties here. Namely, that's Sam outside, the gov't sent Nemesis, and Batgirl could bust up some vigilantes. Give me a head's up if you guys want me to change some thing.]
Klarification (Klarion) « Result #8 Today at 2:52pm »
Characters Appearing: Hush and Klarion Time of Day: 8:00 PM Location(s): The Narrows Previous Thread Name/Info: None NPCs used: Teekl Plot Summary: Hush wants to be sure that batman is truly dead, so he calls upon The Witch Boy to give him that clarification.
Hush hated magic.
It was the one thing that was so unpredictable, he could never prepare for it. He didn't care to attempt to manipulate it because at any moment, it could turn against him. Humans were much easier to turn against one another. MOST humans had simple motivations that could ease them over to your side and make them do whatever you want them to do. The magician was often easier to manipulate than the magic itself.
That was what Thomas planned to do tonight.
Klarion: The Witch Boy was said to be over 400 years old. Still, from what Hush understood, he was still just a boy. Therefore convincing him to come to the Narrows to meet him wasn't all that difficult. He needed to know something that only a person with knowledge of magic and the afterlife could possibly tell him.
He needed to know if Bruce was still alive. He heard footsteps behind him. Turning slowly, he smirked at the boy.
"I'm glad you could make it, Klarion...You're rather punctual too. I admire that."
"Oh, quit whining. You're still alive, aren't you?"

Re: The art of air drying [ROSE and AAK] « Result #9 Today at 2:50pm »
Well, look at that. She had taught someone something new. Not that telling a girl from some underground civilization that another girl from an alien plant was easily offended was a really useful bit of information, nor an impressive display of her supposed teaching abilities, but she would take what she would get. Besides, even if she wouldn't admit it, Rose liked Terra partly because she was so naive. It had only been a few years ago that Rose had been almost just as clueless of the world around her, and it was nice to talk to someone who was still new enough to everything that she didn't need to get all judgmental and high-and-mighty like everyone else. "You're welcome to investigate," she shrugged. "Just don't blame me if she cries." Or threw a pie in her face. If it had happened to anyone else it would have been hilarious, but Rose wasn't really fond of walking up to having a pastry chucked at her face. What a stupid idea, letting Megan watch TV.
Kid's obvious irritation with her made her inwardly smile. So she liked messing with the guy. Who wouldn't? He was like someone had thrown Robin, Leave it to Beaver, and the American flag in a blender just to see what might pop out. Rose nodded at his question, not bothering to hide her intentions. "Little bit, yeah," she said honestly. When was she not trying to bait someone into a fight? She enjoyed a good brawl wherever she could find one, but nobody around here seemed quite as enthusiastic about punching people in the face as she was. Sure, they had their little sparring sessions or whatever, but it wasn't the same. Someone had to be pissed off for it to be a real fight. It just wasn't the same if they were holding back. How was she supposed to get any better if she only had these goody-goody fighters to go up against?
And Kid had just proved her point. Go figure he would be one of those guys. She found it hilarious when boys pulled that excuse. Maybe some pansy-ass girl, sure, but her? Did he think she couldn't kick his ass to China and back? Some called it being a gentleman, but she called it being a wuss.
Both of their answers were exactly what she had expected (although Terra's excuse was somewhat reasonable, she supposed). Silly Rose, Titans didn't smoke! And they never drank, either, and they certainly never stayed out past curfew! That would be irresponsible! "Uh huh," she said with disinterest as she held the cigarette away long enough to pucker her lips and blow out a stream of smoke. So smoking was bad for her. As if fighting armed criminals with no concern for her life was healthy. The odds of her living long enough for the habit to really harm her was laughable.
Rose had lifted the cigarette back to her lips as Terra posed her question, and she followed the other girl's gaze to Kid. What did he want, other than to sit there and ogle them in just their towels?
Re: W: Gonna make you -BLEED- [Gizmo] « Result #10 Today at 2:37pm »
"Glad to see you aren't slipping up, Nicole!" Gizmo answered, using Jinx's real name after she'd gone as far as using his and the hologram stuck its tongue out at her and disappeared. Jinx had figured out the decoy and trap rather quickly, making the boy genius both disappointed and pleased that it wasn't so simple. HIVE had made certain they knew eachothers' strengths, weaknesses, talents, flaws, hobbies, and moves to make for flawless teamwork as well as countering potential betrayal. Weird how two who used to be friends were now archenemies...
"It really hurt when you abandoned us, Jinx. Mammoth even cried." Was THAT ever a chore to deal with. Shame he didn't have Mammoth around, the big guy was mostly doing crime alongside his sister nowadays. When the gun was fully charged, Jinx may have spotted a slight glimmer from her left as the laser cannon fired.
After the cannon fired its round, Gizmo sprouted the batlike wings and jets and flew down at Jinx, opening fire at her with energy bullets. When he was low enough, he hovered in the air with both laser guns trained on her. "Aw, or what, you gonna cry because I got rid of your stupid boyfriend?" He asked with a laugh. "You wanna know? You gotta beat me!" He pressed a switch on his chest, and the wings retracted, and Gizmo now donned his high-tech battle armor. "Assuming you CAN this time, traitor!" He declared, hovering and spreading his arms out as electrical energy surged from his hands.
